Town Hall Square has been a market place and the centre of this old Hanseatic town since the Middle Ages. As a square it plays an important role today as well - in summer it is filled with outdoor cafes, plays host to the Old Town Days and other medieval festivals, is a venue for open air concerts and fairs and more.

Toompea

Toompea (from German: Domberg, "Cathedral Hill") is a limestone hill in the central part of the city of Tallinn. Today Toompea is the center of the Government of Estonia and the Riigikogu (parliament), both of which are often simply referred to as Toompea.

The tower Kiek in de Kök together with the tunnels of the Ingrian and Swedish bastions is an exciting part of Tallinn historical fortifications. The exhibition of "Kiek in de Kök and Bastion Passages" reopened in March 2010, takes the visitor to a time journey that begins in 1219 and offers experience, information and entertainment.

St. Catherine's Passage

Easily the most picturesque of Old Town's lanes, this half-hidden walkway runs behind what used to be St. Catherine's Church. What makes the passage particularly interesting is that it's home to the St. Catherine's Guild, a collection of craft workshops where artists use traditional methods to create and sell glassware, hats, quilts, ceramics, jewellery, hand-painted silk and other wares.

KGB Museum

In Soviet times it was rumoured that the KGB had files on everyone and that they operated in the Viru Hotel. The latter rumour turned out to be true, as you will see on this fascinating tour.

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an orthodox cathedral in the Tallinn Old Town. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is Tallinn's largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral. It is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky who in 1242 won the Battle of the Ice on Lake Peipus, in the territorial waters of present-day Estonia.
